Since October 2009 the HSE STRONGLY recommends that anyone that has completed a workplace first aid qualification i.e. First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work should complete a First Aid Annual Refresher 3hrs course / First Aid Refresher to keep their skills up to date before re-qualification.
The initial question would be, “Why do we need to attend a First Aid Annual Refresher 3hrs course?” The answer is simple and leads us to the next question, how well do you remember what you did 3 months ago, 6 months ago, 12 months ago or even 3 years ago? And, the real answer is above “to keep their skills up to date”.
This course will cover Managing Incidents, Basic Life Support, Control of Bleeding, Examination of a Casualty, Unconsciousness and Treating Shock.
